Durango, CO

The next trip would prove to test our patience and ability to live out of our camper for long periods of time.  As I was done with school for the summer, and the kids were close enough to being done that their attendance in school was not so important, we decided on a lengthy two week trip to the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas.  We left on Mother’s Day 2012 and headed first to an area just outside of Durango, Colorado near Mesa Verde National Park.  We arrived in the dark and found a campsite near a roaring creek.  Although it was cold, the sound of the creek made for a great night’s sleep.  The next morning we discovered that we did not fill the water to the top and in turn remove all of the air.  The water was inaccessible.  After a quick search for water at some nearby campgrounds, we tried pouring water from gallon jugs that my brother-in-law had brought into the camper.  Thankfully, we were able to get the water working and learned yet another valuable lesson about the water.
